Computer Agent terms
Additional terms for using Alphred’s desktop computer agent and its tools.
How these terms apply
These terms supplement the general terms at https://alphred.ai/terms/ for the Computer Agent desktop application, including beta access we provide. The operator and contact are stated in the general terms. The privacy policy at https://alphred.ai/privacy/ explains processing.
The separate Private Agent product is not included. Availability depends on your build, operating system, permissions, models and connected services. Describing planned features does not promise they are available.
Permission to use Alphred
When we give you access, you may install and use the application for lawful purposes within the access and usage limits communicated to you. This does not transfer ownership of Alphred or third-party software. Open-source and other third-party components retain their applicable licences.
Do not use Alphred for unauthorised access, malware, credential theft, unlawful surveillance, fraud, harassment or rights infringement. Do not bypass security or send communications without authority.
Computer control and terminal access
Alphred can run commands, operate interfaces, browse and read or change files using permissions available to the application and its tools. Commands may access networks, install dependencies, change settings or affect data outside a project folder. Selecting a project does not guarantee whole-computer isolation.
Grant access appropriate to the task, keep backups, review proposed actions and check results. Content encountered during a task can be untrusted. AI can misinterpret instructions and make mistakes even where safeguards are present.
These precautions do not exclude our responsibility to meet applicable standards of care or remove your statutory rights if defective software causes loss.
Approvals, parallel agents and scheduled work
Approval requirements depend on the action, settings, per-chat grants and available safeguards. Auto-approval can permit terminal, computer, file or email operations without another prompt. There is no promise that every operation is separately presented for confirmation.
Subagents may receive delegated context, make model requests and use tools in parallel. Scheduled or continuing tasks may run while you are not actively interacting. Review access and pause or cancel work you no longer intend.
Stopping a task may not interrupt a request already received by another service or reverse completed actions. Undo and backups do not cover every operation.
Connected services and external actions
Connect only accounts you are authorised to use. Depending on granted scopes and supported features, actions may read, create, edit, send, upload or delete content. Give lawful instructions and obtain permissions required for other people’s systems and information.
Third-party services apply their own terms, availability, quotas and charges. Disconnecting locally does not guarantee provider-side revocation. Review the provider’s settings when withdrawing access.
Check recipients, amounts and actual outcomes for consequential operations. A preview is not evidence that a message was sent or that an upload, purchase or deletion was reversed.
AI processing and outputs
Cloud tasks transmit relevant context to configured providers as described in the privacy policy. Local conversation storage does not mean cloud tasks stay on your device. Voice, screen viewing and parallel agents may require additional processing.
Alphred does not use your conversations or files to train its own models. Provider retention and zero-data-retention commitments depend on the specific configured service and contract. These terms do not declare universal provider zero-data retention.
AI outputs can be inaccurate, incomplete or misleading. Review code before running it and verify factual claims and important advice. Alphred does not replace qualified professional advice or appropriate human decision-making in legal, medical, financial, employment or other consequential matters. This does not remove statutory rights about the service or its description.
Confidentiality and other people’s information
Only expose information you have authority and a lawful basis to use. Screens, files, terminal output and connected records may contain other people’s information, secrets or confidential material. Do not assume that all sensitive content is automatically identified or removed.
Establish required permissions and processing arrangements before uses involving confidentiality duties, professional rules or special-category personal data. General signup is not an enterprise data-processing agreement.
Beta access, updates and resources
Beta features and compatibility can change and defects may occur. We may make reasonable updates for security, reliability and compatibility, explaining material changes where appropriate. Beta status does not waive mandatory consumer rights.
Local models and helper runtimes may require downloads and use disk, memory, CPU or GPU resources. Cloud tasks and parallel agents use network bandwidth and may consume third-party quotas. Limits depend on the enabled features.
Payments, credits and cancellation
These terms alone do not create a price, credit allowance, renewal period or subscription. A paid offer must separately explain supplier details, total price, included usage, billing, cancellation and applicable consumer rights before you commit. Signup or email verification does not authorise a charge.
Statutory cancellation, refund, repair, replacement and price-reduction rights remain protected. Where the law requires specific consent to begin digital supply during a cancellation period or acknowledgement about loss of a cancellation right, this must be obtained separately at the relevant time.
Accounts or API keys you supply may incur charges under your provider agreement. A task or local model setting is not a promise that all third-party usage is free.
Ending use and responsibility
You can stop using Alphred and remove the app. Online account deletion does not itself erase local files or third-party records; uninstalling does not automatically stop hosted shares. Use the relevant deletion, revocation and share controls.
The general terms preserve consumer rights and explain our responsibility. These additional terms do not impose a blanket liability exclusion, an unlimited indemnity, mandatory arbitration or a waiver of rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
